These easy Crockpot Party Meatballs make great appetizers, hors d’oeuvres or snacks for parties, game day or any get together. Serve these alongside other appetizers and watch them disappear.
When you’re making snacks and appetizers for a party or game day get together, you want to have a variety of foods, and not spend hours prepping them. That’s what’s great about recipes like these crockpot party meatballs. Toss them in a crockpot and let them do their thing. That easy!
I like to serve these alongside my Spinach Artichoke Dip, Cheese Ball, and Black Bean & Corn Salsa, mixing warm and cold appetizers.
3 Easy Ingredients
- Chili sauce: I love Heinz chili sauce for this recipe, but feel free to use your favorite.
- Grape jelly: Any concord grape jelly will work in this recipe. The jelly lends just the right amount of sweetness to the meatballs and blends perfectly with the flavors of the chili sauce.
- Frozen meatballs: Use at least a 32 ounce bag of frozen meatballs. You can use homestyle or Italian. Both are good for this recipe.
How to make party meatballs
Whisk together the jelly and chili sauce and add them to a crockpot. Turn the crockpot on high, and heat the mixture for 30 minutes, long enough to melt the jelly and meld the two ingredients together. Add the meatballs. Spoon the mixture up over the meatballs coating all of them.
Cook on high for 1 hour. Spoon the mixture up over the meatballs again. Turn crockpot to low and cook for one more hour, or until the meatballs are heated through and hot. The sauce will also become thicker by this time.
Turn the crockpot to warm and serve the meatballs from the crockpot or on a serving plate.
Tips for this recipe
- When using frozen meatballs, make sure they are pre-cooked. Most frozen ones are. If they aren’t, they will need longer to cook in a crockpot, or you can cook and brown them in a skillet first, like if you make homemade meatballs.
- If you like a little kick in your meatballs, feel free to add your favorite hot sauce or spice. Just remember, when serving to guests, that not everyone loves spicy foods.
- The longer you cook the meatballs the better the flavors meld together. I suggest cooking them for at least the amount of time stated in this recipe for the best flavor. The meatballs also need to cook long enough for the sauce to reduce and become thickened.
