My Country Table

About

Welcome to My Country Table!  My name is Cindy and I am thrilled you stopped by.  I hope you’ll grab a cup of coffee and a sweet treat and have a seat at My Country Table and get to know me.  I’ve been playing in the kitchen for several decades, and I hope to give you inspiration in the kitchen and also some insight into the science of baking!  I also hope that My Country Table will be your first stop when you are looking for a great recipe!

Over the years, I came to realize that a lot of my friends didn’t know how to make recipes from scratch, such as homemade biscuits, gravy, pie crust, dumplings, etc…  I also can’t tell you how many zillion recipes I’ve copied for my friends over the years, just to have them later tell me, that they were afraid to attempt making the recipe or lost it.  Can I get another copy?  After giving this much thought, I decided to create a food blog where my friends could visit and not only see recipes they liked but see illustrated step-by-step instructions for the harder recipes.  In 2016, My Country Table was born.  However, I didn’t have much time to dedicate to my food blog, due to my busy job.

In 2021, I decided to retire and turn my full attention to my food blog.  Now I hope to be able to share many more recipes with you, and if you make one of my recipes, please let me know how you liked it.

My promise to you is that I’m totally dedicated to providing you with only the best of time-tested recipes.  Most of these recipes are ones that I have made hundreds of times.  I also post some recipes other than my own, but I test and totally approve of them before posting them on my blog.

I love to make recipes from scratch, using only the purest of ingredients.  My mother was right, If you’re going to take the time to make something from scratch, then by golly make it taste like it’s from scratch, by using pure ingredients such as real butter and pure vanilla.  Don’t get me wrong here… you will see me use a cake mix here and there.  A cake mix can be turned into a very delectable dessert when the right ingredients are added.

These days I’m still in the kitchen making biscuits and pie crusts and so much more. I am a mother, wife, sister, and grandma. I live in the hills of Kentucky in a log home with my husband Don, and our four-legged baby, Cosmo.

Me and my twin at the age of two, trying to see what my mom was mixing in her Sunbeam stand mixer.  I’m the nosey one on the right.  This picture should tell you how old I am, ’cause I’ll never tell.

So anyhow,  I’d like to take this time to say thank you for stopping by, and again, I hope My Country Table will be your first stop when you are looking for a recipe!
